North American Contractors Case Studies: Structural Repairs Cause Short Delay of Job in Indianapolis, IN
Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 by Ashley Rudolphi
Challenge
This project ended up being a little more difficult than expected! There were structural problems with the back porch that made it unstable for the crew to be on the roof.
Solution
After inspection, we noticed the structural problem with the back porch. One quadrant of the hipped roof was supported by a corner post. The two 14″ beams that rested on the corner post were completely rotted through and had to be fixed before anyone could safely get on the roof. NAC worked with the homeowner to address the issue before our crew could safely install his new roof. Luckily, it was just a short delay and we were able to quickly proceed and provide the homeowner with a safer, updated roof.
